As an approach shoe, the Salewa Wildfire Leather can be best described as a hiking shoe for conditions where tricky terrain demands higher performance. The Exa Shell upper keeps your foot from twisting around when all you have is a thin rock edge. And the Pomoca sticky rubber sole keeps the shoe solidly planted. What makes this Wildfire different from its predecessors is the use of a suede leather upper. Tough to be sure, but also supremely good looking when walking around town after the day’s adventure.
